This artwork is a self portrait. The intent is to explore the feeling of isolation in the pursuit of finding a sense of self. Often the mind can wonder when overwhelmed with thoughts and appears as a blank space void of any focus. I wanted to express my attempts to shield myself from the many distractions I face seen in the use of the umbrella and the apple symbolising the knowledge i truely seek. the suit that i am wearing reflects the morbid emotions that come with this process as success cannot come without failure.
