Windows of dissolution

​Depersonalization is a mental disorder that is characterized by the disruption of self-awareness leaving a person feeling as if they are viewing their life from an outsider’s perspective with no control over the events occurring within their life. Windows to dissolution positions the viewer from an outsider’s view into the mind of a person experiencing this disconnection from reality through the windows that frame their audience’s view.  At the centre of the composition is a coffee mug that provides life to most people’s working days and radiating from it, the stress and anxieties to externals voices. The crumpled paper that is slowly being burned represents the slow deterioration of this person’s mental health with eyes glaring out in pain.
